Alias: Ms LaNay

Why are you the right girl for BMD?
Hello! My name is Monique LaNay from Hawaii currently residing in Atlanta. I have been modeling for severa years but after the bith of my son and a devastating divorce, I took a 5 year hiatis. Growing up I was always told how pretty I was and how I should be a model. From my perspective, I took it as people disregarding my intellect and stereotyping me as a typical pretty girl. It annoyed me so much that I did the complete opposite of what others \"expected\" me to do. I joined the military, sailed the seven seas and received and education, all the while statements of my superficial beauty continued. After giving birth and a devastating divorce, I found myself using my “beauty\" and brains to maintain. I want to represent the independent woman\'s struggle. No, Im not another over zelous man hatter with men issues nor am I just a pretty face.....Im a woman of beauty, brains and class thats loves to submit to her man. When im not on my pretty girl hustle....I enjoy doing my mommy thing. You can find me on the football field conducting my team mom duties or hanging out doing what my son enjoys the most. It is important to me that I have balance in my life because it keeps me grounded. Too much of one thing can keep your head in the clouds or naive to what’s really going on around you. Blasting my favorite Pandora station, pouring a glass (or three) of wine and cleaning my house is my ultimate relaxation ritual. I also enjoy throwing down in the kitchen and heading out to the local gym.\r\nSome of my accomplishments in this industry include working on set of the TV series \"LOST\" in 2005 which gave me the exciting opportunity to work with TV Guide and Vanity Fair. I have walked in major fashion shows such as the Susan B. Anthony Breast Awareness event 2012, Ed Hardy 2007, Sports Illustrated 2008. I have worked with local magazines and interviewed local artist. Im currently working with 99Models recruiting, managing and building models. Ultimately, I see myself working in media production in some shape or fashion.
