BlackMen Digital Interview: Brenique

Wednesday 23rd, March 2011

BM: Why do you think you should be a BlackMenMagazine Model?

B: I should be a Black Men Model because I represent today’s total black woman, mind, body and soul.

BM: Did you market yourself to fans on www. Blackmendigital.com?

B: Yes.

BM: Were you always this amazingly curvy?

B: Yes, and I used to hate it. Lol

BM: What disadvantages do you feel you have as an urban model?

B: I’m  5’8” which is pretty tall for a woman and extra tall for an urban model because majority of the models are 5’5” and under. I can be considered a high fashion model just because of my height.

BM: Do you think that having size 40 or more hips inhibits most models?

B: No, because if you pose the right way you can look like you have 36 inch hips (at least I can).

BM: Where do you train if you are acting?

B: I train with my acting coach.

BM: Do you have a commercial head shot?

B: Yes.

BM: Do you understand that without these things on your resume that you career, if any, might be short?

B: Yes.

BM: What’s your favorite drink?

B: Orange Juice.

BM: What’s your favorite food?

B: Bacon.

BM: Mood Music?

B: R & B.

BM: Your favorite vacation spot?

B: A beautiful island.

BM: Favorite place to be kissed?

B: My neck and stomach (it’s a tie).

BM: Favorite body part on your man?

B: Chest.

BM: Favorite place to kiss him?

B: Chest.

BM: How often do you measure yourself?

B: Maybe every 2 months.

BM: Are you proud of your curves?

B: Yes, I love them!!!

BM: What curvaceous celebrity did you identify with as a role model for success?

B: Beyonce.

BM: Have you invested money into your career?

B: Of course!

BM: Do you or would you work a 9 to 5 until your career took off?

B: Yes, I would because how else would I be able to invest in myself.

BM: If you had an agent, would you refer all assignments to them as in your agreement, or do you feel you should take on some work without informing them?

B: I would consult with them every time.

BM: How do you feel about magazines like Elle and Vogue, do you think they should feature more curvaceous women?

B: Yes. I do think they should feature more curvy women because women are beautiful in all shapes and sizes and besides, we did not ask to be born like this.

BM: How do you plan to change the game?

B: By getting booked for high fashion modeling gigs.
